![]() Dr. OBAID SAQER BUSIT Obaid graduated in law from UAE University in 1984. Subsequently, he studied in America at the University of San Diego where he gained his Master's degree in Comparative Law in1986, and at Durham University in England where he gained his Doctorate in Commercial Arbitration in 1991. Thereafter, he practised on his own account in Dubai before becoming Director General of Dubai's Department of Ports and Customs in 1994. In the same year, he was appointed Chairman of the UAE Customs Council. Many honours followed, culminating in his election in July 2000, to the post of Chairman of the World Customs Organisation Council, the first Arab to hold this important and prestigious post. Obaid combines sound practical commonsense with his academic interests. He is the author of many learned articles published in international legal journals. Between 1991 and 2005, he was a lecturer at his old university at Al Ain. Obaid’s specialty areas are international trade, agency and distribution, intellectual property and arbitration. |

![]() MUTASIM KHALIL MOHAMED ISMAIL Mutasim obtained bachelor of law (honours) from Faculty of Law University of Khartoum in 1995, he obtained Sudanese Bar Certificate, and then started his profession by joining Omer Abdul Ati law firm. In 1997 he became a member of Sudanese Bar Association. Between 1998 and 2007, he joined a number of the most distinguished law firms in UAE. In 2007 he was appointed as a secretary and a legal advisor to the board of the Bank of Khartoum, Sudan. At the beginning of 2010 he joined Busit Advocates and Legal Consultants. During the tenure of his employment he gained an extensive experience and become well versed with the laws, procedures, regulations, policies applied in UAE, which enable him to provide legal advice to many national and international companies including banks, insurance companies and construction and real estate companies. |

![]() SIMON BUTTON Simon graduated from Edinburgh University, the University of East Anglia and the College of Law Birmingham before training with Hansells Solicitors, one of East Anglia's principal law firms, where he gained experience in private client matters, dispute resolution, property and commercial matters. He was admitted as a Solicitor in England and Wales in 2008 and moved to Chattertons, the leading law firm in the East Midlands, where he specialised in commercial property and agriculture, and commercial transactions. Since joining Busit Advocates and Legal Consultants Simon has helped property investors negotiate with developers to overturn cancelled sale and purchase agreements, advised on all types of contracts and on large trust fund issues. He is also able to assist with company formations in UAE Free Zones and related services, as well as business affairs and UK property matters. |

Henning has extensive legal and business experience having worked in the BMW group for several years and providing consulting services. Since 2003, he was a partner of ASCON, a European-Arab industrial partnership. He joined Buse in 2007 and concentrates on mergers and acquisition matters. |

![]() CHRISTIAN GLORIA Christian studied law in Bochum (Germany) and London and was admitted to the bar in Germany in 1989. He has been a partner in Buse since 1989. Christian has far reaching experience in corporate and commercial work as well as antitrust law. His professional activities include membership on supervisory boards. Christian is co-author of a leading German publication on international law and writes frequently on corporate and antitrust subjects. |

![]() ANTHONY DAVID HARRIS Anthony was educated in Exeter College, Oxford, UK. He joined the British Diplomatic Service in 1964, and being fluent in Arabic, focused mainly on the Arab World. He was posted to Lebanon, Saudi Arabia, Sudan, The United Arab Emirates (twice), Switzerland and Egypt. He also had secondments to the Ministry of Defence, where he was closely involved in military aircraft sales to Saudi Arabia and the Cabinet Office, and also where he conducted a review of the security of British missions overseas. He has traveled widely in the Arab World and Iran. His last appointment with the Foreign and Commonwealth Office was to Abu Dhabi in 1994 as HM Ambassador. He took an early retirement in 1998 to join Robert Fleming International bank in London as a Director in their Middle East Corporate Finance Department. |
